Butler Elementary is located in the town of Bedford, about 65 km southeast of Montreal. The town of Bedford has a mixture of small businesses and large industries, while the surrounding areas tend to be rural and agricultural. Students come from Stanbridge East, St-Armand, Clarenceville, Noyan, Venice, Pike River and, of course, the town of Bedford itself. Bilingualism is an important part of the social fabric at school and in the community.
