Final Bits of Information

Summer Hours

The office will be closed from July 4, 2016 to August 15, 2016, inclusively. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact Ms. Spencer or Mr. Morgan, next week. Please note that Ms. Spencer will be out of the office Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28. The phone number is (450) 248-2090, ext. 10301 (Ms. Spencer) and 10310 (Mr. Morgan).

2016-2017 School Year

August 31, 2016 will be the first day of school.

Multi-Age Kindergarten will have a progressive entry. Half of the class will start on August 31st and the other half will start on September 1st. The whole class will be at school on Friday, September 2nd.

The Kindergarten teacher will be calling parents at home to let them know the start date for their children.

School day starts at 8 am

School day ends at 2:20 pm

Buses leave at 2:35 pm

2016-2017 School Fees

Included in the end-of-school envelope, sent home with your child, is a list of consumable fees and supervision fees for the 2016-2017 school year. School fees must be paid by the first week of September 2016, and cheques are still the preferred method of payment. A return envelope for your payment has been included. You can start sending in your payments as early as the week of August 22, 2016. If you cannot pay by the deadline, you must call the school to set up a payment plan. Failure to do so will mean that your name will be given to a collection agency in October 2016 and AN ADDITIONAL 15% WILL BE ADDED TO THE TOTAL AMOUNT DUE.

Inside the end-of-school envelope, you will also find the school calendar, transportation information and a list of supplies that your child will need for the next school year. Ms. Blinn is having all her Grade 5 students go through their remaining supplies and will have a check list letting you know which items need to be replenished, instead of buying everything over again for Grade 6.

Transportation Reminder

If the Transportation Department has assigned your child as a walker, and you have managed to get busing for him/her this year, you must fill out the transportation request form again for next year and every year. You can drop by and see Ms. Spencer as of August 15th to make these arrangements and fill out the form. Also, a few families have reported address changes that will take effect over the summer. Your transportation form may still have the old information, since they were published with this year’s info. Don’t worry! Your address has been updated in the system, and a modification will be sent from the Transportation Dept.

Summer Reading Tutor

Lise Huck will be available during the summer to tutor any child who is struggling with reading. You can contact her about arrangements and her fees at goldenlise@yahoo.ca.
