Morning Playground Supervision
There is NO SUPERVISION on the school playground before 8 am. Children who walk to school should not arrive before 8 am.
The parking lot is for Butler staff only. If you are dropping off or picking up your children at school, please park along the side of the street in front of the parking lot. Also, explain to your children that they must use the crosswalks and sidewalks and not cut across the parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation.
The front door is locked at all times. Visitors will be buzzed in. All parents and visitors to the school must report to the office immediately upon entering the building. Once Ms. Spencer knows you are there, you can proceed to the classroom. If you are picking up your child during school hours, or waiting to see a teacher, you must inform the office and wait there. We will call your child or the teacher from the classroom to come meet you. MEETINGS WITH TEACHERS MUST BE SCHEDULED.
Trying to Enter the Building between 11:30 am and 12:20 pm or before 8 am
Butler’s lunch periods run from 11:30 am to 12:20 pm. Therefore, there may not be anyone at or around the office to let you in immediately, should you arrive and asked to be buzzed in then. The School Board Safety policy dictates that you are to wait until someone from the Butler staff opens the front door. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO OPEN ANY SCHOOL DOORS. The front entrance is the only entrance to the school during school hours. And please remember, the school office opens at 8 am, so you will also have to wait for someone to let you in if you arrive before that.
We do not make after school bus changes. Your child must take their assigned bus home. We do not take requests for students wanting to go to a friend’s house after school.
Telephone Numbers and Addresses
Please update your phone number and address with the school, if you move during the year.
Only students involved in Butler School activities will be allowed to use the 4 pm late bus service. This DOES NOT include daycare. Parents must pick their children up at daycare.
